DOMINION is a one act drama set in a familiar time and place. At its core, Dominion is a story of about love, sacrifice, and the unknowable truth.

When young Esther arrives to fulfill her duties as third wife of the prophet Hammon, she must also find her place among his other wives - the adversarial Mara and the well-meaning Rachel. On a nearby farm, the widow Ella fears that her only son Jubal will be taken away, leaving her alone to weather the advances of one of the most powerful members of the community. Defying tradition, Jubal and Esther set in motion a series of events that corrupt the foundation of the entire village.

The cast features Niamh Collins (Carrie in Carrie the Musical and Joanne in Rent with the Berkeley Playhouse Teen Stage) as the prized wife-to-be Esther; Katharine Otis (Carlotta Grisi in Pas de Quatre with Dark Porch Theatre, C in Three Tall Women with Custom Made Theatre Co.) as the well-meaning Rachel; Genevieve Perdue (company member of Wily West Productions, A Flea in Her Ear on the Diego Rivera Theatre at City College of SF) as the spiteful Mara; Alex Poling as the intrepid Jubal; Nathan Tucker (company member of Dark Porch Theatre and SF Fringe Best Actor 2009) as the ambitious Amit; Teri Whipple (company member of New Conservatory Theatre Center and We Players) as the desperate Ella; and Don Wood (Coast of Utopia with Shotgun Players and Arthur in Superior Donuts with Custom Made Theatre Co.) as the despairing Hammond.

The artistic team is comprised of playwright Alan Olejniczak [Present Tense, Hylas, if-then(-else)]; director Rik Lopes (the TBA award-winning Everybody Here Says Hello with Wily West Productions and At Last Theatre’s inaugural production of Present Tense at the A.C.T. Costume Shop); composer Charlie Gurke (music director and composer-in-residence at We Players winning Best Original Score for their 2014 production of Macbeth), and costume designer Arthur Oliver (The Great Russian Nutcracker North America Tour and Edinburgh Fringe Festival), lighting designer Mike Riggs (resident lighting designer of Obie-nominated theater company The Debate Society with performances off-Broadway and the The Kennedy Center, set designer James Hunting (J&M Special Effects and resident set designer for One Year Lease Theatre Co. in New York), and dramaturges Martin Schwartz and Adam L. Sussman. The original music by Gurke will be performed live with a string trio of violin, viola, and cello.
